Dear Friends:
We need to take a moment to recognize some of the many accomplishments of TWS
Starting with the fact that 97% of our 8th graders last year achieved level 3's
and 4's on the ELA's (English Language Arts) state wide tests. Second, the
unique TWS early child learning approach can take credit for much of these
results. It is being recognized as such as we have added another
pre-kindergarten class and now have a waiting list. Third, our last year
8th graders continued the tradition of all graduates admitted to selective high
schools and as we track our students through high school we are finding that
close to 70% of our students who respond are being admitted into college.
Our goal is 100%.
This unique record of accomplishment is something to be very proud of. TWS
offers our children an extraordinary opportunity to insure their futures.
Building on early child learning (starting with reading at 3 years old) and then
mentoring our children in a safe nurturing environment is the proved
methodology.
It is not rocket science but it does require dedicated and passionate teachers
and leaders and the focus on what we are trying to accomplish.
Nevertheless, we face difficult challenges in the next year. TWS is not
immune to the economic difficulties that will effect us all. However, we
recognize that our mission to provide a future for our children, still is
priority #1.
As a community we will weather the current storm. We appreciate the
continued support of our entire community of TWS parents, friends and staff.
To each we say thank you for supporting our efforts to make a difference in the
lives of so many deserving children.
With best regards,
Michael Druckman
